It is with much sorrow that we announce the passing of Paul Edward Hogan, in his 76 year, on June 16, 2010 in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Paul was born on June 21st, 1933, in Ottawa and proudly served overseas with the RCAF during the Korean War as a peacekeeper. Upon his retirement Paul held jobs as a mechanic in the trucking industry until he bought Cumberland Wash N' Dry with the late Ann Harakma. His interests were gardening, watching hockey, "visiting his money" at the casinos as he always said, trips with the motor home, and tinkering in his garage. Paul embraced the Anishnabe culture and his Anishnabek friends held a special place in his heart. We will miss his smile, his laugh, his wonderful sense of humour but most of all his love. We will cherish our memories in our hearts. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Stella Rose Hogan and was the brother of Frank Hogan and Rosemary Butler (Ron Johnstone). Stepfather of Glenna and Buck Neshkiwe. Loving grandfather of Joshua, Katrina and Amber. Loving god-parent of Colton Vail. Brother in law of Richard (Lisa), Lionel (Carla), Wayne Osawamick (Verna). Sister in law of Bella Shigwadja, Theresa and Isobelle Osawamick. Adopted sister in law Elaine Donley (Bob) and Martina Osawamick. Remembered by special friends: parents of Colton, Rick and Denise Vail, Teresa Clemenza, Bonnie Smith, Jo-Anne Vares, Ron Arthur and life long friends Ron and Rolande Joannnise, Mom Ida and of course his coffee buddies at Roosters. Father of Ann, Debbie and Robert Hogan. Survived by Mildred Hogan, mother of his children. Devoted son of the late Ambrose and Marcella Hogan, Paul was also predeceased by his brother Desmond and sister Joan Howard. Cremation has taken place and burial will be a later date. Service in Thunder Bay will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday June 18th, 2010, in St. Anne's Church, Fort William First Nation. Additional services will be held later in Wikwemikong at St. Anthony Daniel Church and in Ottawa followed by a gathering for family and friends. We sincerely thank the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, St. Joseph's Care Group Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Bay Shore Home Health, Medigas for giving Paul outstanding care and treatment for the last two years. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bella Shigwadja, 1991 Kaboni Rd, Wikwemikong Reserve, ON, P0P 2J0 to honour Paul's memory and his desire to support community agricultural activities.
