Paul Rioux Obituary
Mr. Paul Rioux Sr. , at the age of 50 years of Thunder Bay passed away on Friday, August 4th, 2000 at home 3 days after his Birthday. Paul was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who spent most of his time helping others, caring for his family and visiting with his Mother. He has worked hard for many, many years at Abitibi Mill. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially spending his free time at his new camp. He was happiest spending time with his 'BUD' Justin and taking him on one of their many excursions. He took great pride in spoiling his grandchildren with lots of love and attention. Paul was predeceased by his soul mate and partner for life, his wife Susan Rioux, who just recently passed away on August 14th, 1999. Paul is survived by his grandchildren Justin and Austin Dafoe and Gates Rioux; daughter Sherri Dafoe (Brian), son Paul Rioux 'Bubba' (Heather) and mother Margaret Rioux. He was predeceased by his father Charles Rioux. Also surviving are his brothers and sister who loved him very much, Donna Costa, Diane Wanzuk, Maryanne MacKenzie, Phyllis King of Toronto, Gene Starchuck, and Carol Hokason of Calgary, Bonnie Logsdon of Yellowknife, Marcel and David Rioux. Numerous nieces and nephews and relatives also survive. Family and friends are invited to remember and pay respect to Paul Rioux on Wednesday, August 9th, 2000 between the hours of 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. at the Westfort Chapel, 420 Gore Street at James. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to 'Diabetes Health Thunder Bay' would be appreciated.A donation has been made to the Diabetes Health Thunder Bay in honour of Mr. Paul Rioux by Everest of Thunder Bay."
