Pauline St. Denis Obituary

Mrs. Pauline Anna St. Denis age 74 years, resident of Thunder Bay, passed away in TBRHSC, on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 after a lengthy illness. Pauline was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and moved to Taggart and Sunstrom, Ontario as a young girl. She moved to Sioux Lookout as a young woman where she met the love of her life, Frenchy, who she married on May 31, 1958. She worked for many years at the Zone Hospital in Sioux Lookout. In 1969 Frenchy, Pauline and family moved to Fort William. She was employed for 25 years with the City of Thunder Bay at Grandview Lodge as a Health Care Aide. Pauline was very active with the Scandinavian Home Society where she served as secretary in the fund raising for the new building. She loved playing games and cards, knitting, crocheting, going for long drives, but her favorite activity of all was spending time with her children. Family was everything to her. She went back to University in her sixties, which she enjoyed immensely and was very proud of. She also had a great passion for Genealogy. Pauline is survived by her children Donald (June), Carol (Les) Albert, Barry of Toronto and Betty (Ken) of Ignace. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren, sister Ingrid Copeland (Trenton), nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. She was predeceased by her husband Frenchy on June 27, 1980, her mother Lillie, step-father Melvin, brothers Don and Hans and father Hans. Cremation has taken place and according to Pauline's wishes a private family viewing was held. Memorial services will take place when family and friends will gather for Funeral Mass at St. Elizabeth's Church on Monday, June 20, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. celebrated by Rev. Rey Ronquillo. If friends desire, memorials to the Heart and Stoke Foundation or the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Fund would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Pauline St. Denis in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 10, 2012.
