Pearl Paul Obituary

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Mother of 5, grandmother of 15, great grandmother of 22 and great-great grandmother of 3, Pearl Paul (Aho) at the age of 102. Pearl was born in Fort William on July 12, 1920 and passed away peacefully at Hogarth Riverview Manor in Thunder Bay on October 26, 2022. She had a great life! She worked as a telephone operator and met the love of her life Russell Paul who she married in 1940. She was the best mom ever to her 5 children, Russell Paul (Doreen), Diane Uurainen (Esko), Donna Uurainen (Heiki deceased), Judith Pidgeon (George) and Marilyn Cully (George deceased). With her husband, mom ran Victoria Park Variety for over 10 years. She loved to be with family spending time at their camp at Sunnyside and travelling to the US. There was always a fresh pot of hot coffee waiting for everyone at her house. Predeceased by her parents (mom) Lydia, (father) Victor Aho, her 3 siblings Bernard, Dagmar, and Theodore, grandson Esko Jr. and her beloved husband Russell Paul. A huge Thank you to the wonderful staff and care provided at Hogarth Riverview Manor.

We will miss you Mom. We love you old nanny.

Dear Marilyn and families
Please accept my condolences for the loss of your mom. I remember how involved she was with your kids when they were growing up I always use to think how blessed you were to have such a close mother daughter friendship with her. I hope that you all get strength from all the great memories of her that you have.

Take care.
