PETER WAYNE EUSTACETo know him was to love him. It is with broken hearts that the extended family of Peter Wayne Eustace announces his sudden but peaceful passing in hospital on Saturday, July 6, 2013. He had suffered catastrophic injuries June 28, 2000 that left him a quadriplegic. Pete was born on February 21, 1955 in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia and led a colourful life. He is survived by his brother Michael (Colette), nephews Francois and Matthew, all of Montreal. Pete is survived by close friend and partner Marlene Kasstan and her sons Patrick (Sharon) and their children Seth (10), Timothy (8), and Steve (Andrea) and their daughter Sonia (3). Seth and Tim's sports updates as well as movie nights sharing popcorn were special. Sonia's girlie girl charm wrapped Pete around her little finger this past Christmas. It was an awesome time to be cherished. Also survived by his dog, Conor - 90 lbs of love who slept under or near his bed, and somehow was able to jump on the sides of the airbed to give Pete licks, never damaging the bed. Pete was predeceased by his mother Dorothy Irene Walsh in October 1955, and his father Mansell Clarkson Eustace in 1996. Pete was an "amazing person", brilliant with a quick wit, strong-willed, and will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved him including his extended family of caregivers - Jim, Tammy, Sue, Melissa, Pina, Jodie, Ida, Savannah, Jane, and Lynaya, and many, many others. Patrick was a source of strength, and comic relief through their late night antics as well as during extremely trying times. Special thanks to Pete's primary nurse, Georgette Siciliano, Drs Greg Gamble, John Hargadon, Owen Prouse, and Pramila Rao who used their magical powers to make it possible for Pete to be at home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 11:00 AM in Westminster United Church (Madeline Street across from Grandview Mall) with Jim Hyder officiating. If friends so desire, donations to the Trauma Fund of the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre would be greatly appreciated. Pete's word of advice: Do not drink and drive -"fight harder for the keys" from a driver who has been drinking, or walk home even from Sibley Park. Arrangements have been entrusted to the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James. Please sign the on-line condolences at
