Peter John Goegan

March 06, 1934 - October 08, 2008 Peter John Goegan passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2008 peacefully at home with his family by his side at the age of 74. Pete's love of his life, besides his family, was hockey. Starting as a young boy, at the "East End" rink leading him to the AHL and NHL for 11 seasons till his retirement in 1970 with the WHL. Pete also had a successful career as an avid carpenter during his off seasons. Peter is survived by his son Dale, daughters Jo Anne and Karen, sisters Lena (Bill) Graham and Margie (Darryl) Dean, brothers Johnny (Marion) of Mississauga and youngest brother Tony. Peter was predeceased by his wife Doreen (nee Mastrangelo) in 1996. He was also predeceased by his parents Bruno and Anna (nee Marsonet), and brothers Louie "Blackie" and Fiori (Eileen). Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2008 in St. Dominic's Roman Catholic Church at 11:00am celebrated by Rev. Dan Lapolla c.s. A private family interment will take place in St. Andrew's Cemetery at a later date. As the family wishes, donations to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
