It is with very heavy hearts that we share the passing of Peter Lidkea on Sat., Dec. 20th at the age of 72. Peter was born on June 5th 1953 in Thunder Bay. To say he was the best is an understatement. He was a very loving, caring and generous son, brother, uncle and friend. Pete was our go to and he was always there to lend a hand. From driving some of his sisters across Canada to move, to sending his mother to Italy which had been on her bucket list. He had a very special bond with his three nieces Dayna, Mellyssa and Tavia who all adored him very much. His generosity continued well beyond his family to all who knew him. He was well known at Bowater where he worked in the water quality department for many years, retiring in 2008.
He is predeceased by his parents Garrett and Rosaire Lidkea, sister Judith Lidkea, brothers-in-law Bertil Lindstrom and Doug Johnston and his nephew Nicholas Berardi.
He is survived by sisters Beth Lindstrom, Allyson Lidkea (Peter), Roseanne Johnston, Mary Laffan and Kathryn Berardi (Bob), brother Gerard Lidkea as well as many nieces and nephews.
At Peter's request there will be no memorial service. If friends so desire a donation to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
We will forever hold him closely in our hearts.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay.
