Peter Parkkari

1929-2011 Mr. Peter Parkkari age 81 years passed away peacefully in Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre with family by his side on Tuesday, July 12, 2011. Born in Uusikirkko, Finland on August 29, 1929, he came to Canada in 1954. Peter owned and operated Peter Parkkari General Trucking for many years, retiring at age 65. He was a friendly, good-hearted and humorous man who was always joking. Peter loved to sing and he loved to travel. Survived by his loving companion Vivica and her family, brother Kalervo, sister Anja Lehtinen, nephews Jani and Ilari, son Peter, daughter Kate and grandson Riley. Numerous other relatives also survive in Canada and in Finland. Predeceased by his parents, daughter Eija, brothers Immo and Teuvo. Funeral services for the late Mr. Peter Parkkari will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley St. at Algoma. Interment of Ashes will take place at a later date. If friends so desire, donations to Hilldale Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
