Philip Birch Obituary
BIRCH
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Philip Godfrey Birch on June 15, 2024, at the age of 76. Phil leaves his wife Brenda (née Duncan) of 54 years, his high school sweetheart and love of his life, and his cherished children: Catherine, Beverly, Jenifer, Stephanie, Ernie, Peter, and Keith. He was a proud grandfather to Zachary (Alicia), Miranda, Philip, Ryley, Tyler, Spencer, Grace, Kyle, and Shelby, he was a devoted great-grandfather to Theo and Carson.
Phil will be eternally remembered for his love, compassion, strength, and selflessness. Born in Fort William, ON and raised in Schreiber, he worked in the family business and served as a volunteer firefighter. He later pursued a fulfilling career as a heavy-duty mechanic in Timmins, Ontario. Phil was a pillar of strength and a beacon of kindness in his community, leaving a memorable mark on everyone who knew him.
Phil found immense joy in spending time with his family, watching his grandchildren's sports, sharing his passion for cars, cross-country skiing, camping, fishing, and tackling his "daddy-do" lists. His legacy of love and dedication will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
He is predeceased by his parents, Godfrey and Edith (née Ball) Birch, and his brother, Brian. He is survived by his three sisters, Marlene, Linda, and Terry, along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family would ask that donations be made to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation or St. John's Anglican Church in Schreiber.
We say so long to our Dad with the firm handshake he will be forever known for .....
