Primo Gaiotti Obituary

One of the original Westfort boys passed away on April 1, 2022, in his 94th year. Primo was born in Fort William, Ontario on September 1, 1927, and lived most of his life in the family home on West Gore Street.

Primo lived a private and quiet life. He enjoyed a good laugh and loved to watch baseball, hockey and old movies on TV. He could also compete with the best of them on “The Price is Right” - guessing the closest price every time.

For most of his working life he was employed as a pipefitter's helper for various companies around the city and was a proud member of Local 628 for well over 60 years.

Primo was predeceased by his father Antonio (1960), his mother Carla (1976), and his younger brother Guido (2011).

He is survived by his sister-in-law Rita Gaiotti, niece Toni-Lynn (Allan) MacTavish and great-niece Carli MacTavish.

Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held at St. Patrick's Cemetery where Primo will be laid to rest in the family plot.

For those who wish, remembrance donations may be made to the Regional Cancer Program or Cardiovascular Sciences Program of the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

Thank you to the staff of 7N at Hogarth Riverview Manor for the good care given to Primo these past few months.

Condolences for your loss. I have many fond memories of working with Primo and Guido. Both fine men. Westfort will not be the same without him.
