RADMILA BARONE Obituary

We are saddened to announce the passing of Radmila on Thursday 5 February, 2026 at the age of 82 years. She was the baby sister of Djordje (Mara) and Chedomir (Lily), the beloved wife of Raffaele, the love of her life, the cherished mother to Angela, Melissa and Chedomir (Maurice), the much-loved Baka to Carmela and Leo, and an inspirational teacher to countless generations of students. She was an incredibly intelligent and generous person whose love for her family, her friends, and for her work as an educator, changed lives for the better. Her family extends a sincere 'Thank You' to all the Doctors, nurses, and caregivers at Henley House for their care and compassion over these last number of months. Donations in Radmila's memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.

Dear Ralph, Angela, Melissa and Chedo,
I am so saddened to hear of Rad's passing. I have many fond memories from Kenora in the 70's to reconnecting in Thunder Bay. She had a beautiful soul, so loving and kind to everyone. Her intelligence and humour were evident in every conversation. She will always be a part of my heart.

Dear Chedo and family, I am sorry to hear of your mom´s passing. She was such a wonderful person. I loved talking with her when we were students and I enjoyed working with her for the short time I was at St. Ignatius. May your memories make you smile and bring you peace.

Raffaele, Angela, Melissa and Chedo,
I am shocked and deeply saddened by your sad loss of Rad. She was such an interesting and a wonderful woman. I so enjoyed when your family would come into the Sears Hair Salon. It was always so much fun. I hope your sadness is lessened by the wonderful memories that you have of your lives with lovely Rad. My love and all the best to all of you.
Sincerely, Barbara

My condolences to the Barone family. I greatly enjoyed working with Rad at St. Ignatius. She had such a truthful attitude toward life and a wonderfully dry sense of humour. There were many conversations at the lunch table about her children and family life. She is remembered with a smile.

I am so sad to read the passing of Madame Barone. She was my favourite French teacher at St Joseph school from grades 4 to 6. She developed my love for the French language which inspired me to continue it into university and the education program. She was an amazing educator, kind and caring to all her students. She will be forever remembered and sadly missed.
