RAYNOLD WIDEMAN Obituary

WIDEMAN October 11, 1941 ~ January 29, 2026
Raynold Arthur Wideman, known to most as Ray, passed away January 29, 2026 at the TCU with his children by his side. Ray was born on October 11, 1941 in Sunshine, ON. Ray worked various jobs over the years, spending 36 years at CanCar (Bombardier) where he retired in 2001. He valued routine, hard work and simple pleasures. He found peace in camping at Sleeping Giant Provincial Park. While at camp he enjoyed his daily bike rides and a dip in the lake. Ray enjoyed sharing stories and conversations, often reflecting on his life and the paths he had taken. Ray will be remembered for his quiet presence, steady habits and the comfort he found in everyday routines.

He is survived by his children: daughter Sherry-Lynn (Robert) Sereda, son Colin (Ashley) Wideman, daughter-in-law Marlene Rintala-Wideman; his grandchildren Corissa (Nick) Beck, Andrea (Morgan) Sereda, Jaret (Hannah) Sereda, Matthew (Janessa) Wideman, Justin Hernandez, Cody, Kayla and Connor Wideman; his great-grandchildren Addison and Ryker Beck. His brother Marvin Wideman, sister-in-law Rose (Gary) Bruno and sister-in-law Simone Stas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Ray was predeceased by his wife Beatrice in 2022, his son Dean in August 2025, his parents Arthur and Hilda Wideman, in-laws Rudolf and Mary Stas, step-sister Elne, sister-in-law Clarice Wideman and brother-in-law Joseph Stas.

The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff of the TCU at Hogarth for their care and compassion.

A service will be held at a later date.
