Dad worked for five months at the Port Arthur shipyards as a millwright and then for 16 years as an operator for the City at the Water Pollution Control Plant. Dad retired on October 30, 1988. Dad was active in his Church life and served as Sunday School teacher and Superintendent, Usher, Elder, Councillor and Council Chairman at Christ Lutheran Church.
