RENE SORTO LOVO July 31, 1963 - October 19, 14 A loving & devoted husband, brother, uncle and son.A generous friend.And the most perfect father for his three princesses.It is with great sorrow the family announces the passing of Rene Sorto Lovo, age 51 years, on October 19, 2014. Born in Luis de la Reina and raised in Tolula, San Miguel, El Salvador, Rene joined the Army at age 16, becoming a Sergeant after serving 6 years. Eventually, Rene ventured his way out of El Salvador, living in the U.S.A. and then Canada in 1990, working and residing in many cities until settling in Thunder Bay in 1994 where he made many friends. He became a Canadian Citizen in 1996. Rene was a jack-of-all-trades who enjoyed working and making an honest living to help his family in El Salvador and to help take care of his 3 daughters. In 2000, he became a proud papa of his first child Sky, now age 14, then Jaelin, now 8, and then Ashi, now 6. He was a proud, private man and loving papa to his little princesses. Rene enjoyed playing guitar, camping, fishing, long car rides, listening to his 80's music, but most of all, loving and teaching his girls. For a man who had gone through many hardships in his life, he always gave a helping hand without question. Rene is lovingly remembered by his daughters Skylyn V.S., Jaelin V.S., Ashlyn V.S.; Brooke, the mother of his children with whom he remained friends until his passing; friends in the Spanish community; and co-workers at Racco Roofing where he worked for more than a decade.Rene is also loved and missed by Perly Daclis of The Philippines, his new bride whom he married in March of this year; father David Lovo; siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and other family in El Salvador, U.S.A. and Canada. He was predeceased by his momma Maria Demetria Sorto in El Salvador."Papa, your passing has deeply saddened our hearts. Your memory will always live on, whether a smile on our faces or tears in our eyes. We miss you, papito Lindo, love your lion cubs Sky and Jae and your baby ram, Ashi."Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, presided by Pastor Joel Symonds of Grassroots Church. Interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens will follow the reception. Visitation for family and friends will begin one hour prior to the service, at 12:00 Noon.
