Mr. Richard Albert "Ab" Bailey, age 72 years, resident of Thunder Bay, died in TBRH McKellar, on Saturday, December 8, 2001. Ab was born and raised in Port Hope. He came to Fort William in 1947. He married Dolores McMaster in Fort William in March of 1949. Ab worked at Bowater retiring in 1993 from the Woodlands Division. In his younger years he was a member with the Sea Cadets. Ab loved golf and played regularly at Municipal Golf Course with his golf partners Dino and Bob. Ab always enjoyed hockey and especially watching local hockey. He also loved to watch his grandchildren participate in their sports. Ab is survived by his wife Dolores "Dolly", his children Glenn (Joan), Paul (Becky) and Janet, all of Thunder Bay, grandchildren Lauren, Michael, Karyn, Tessa, Paul Jr. and Ann-Marie and sister-in-law Jean (Jack) Goodfellow of Winnipeg. Nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. He was predeceased by his parents Absolam and Grace Bailey and two brothers Reginald and Robert. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place and friends may visit with the family on Wednesday December 12, from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. in the Blake Funeral Chapel. A private family interment service will follow later in Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials to a charity of choice would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Mr. Ab Bailey in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 23, 2002.On-line condolences May be sent
