Rob Defoy Obituary

January 13, 1956 to June 2, 2023

It is with heavy hearts and saddened souls that we bid farewell to this storybook character of a man.

Rob grew up in the slate river valley, he was a goaltender from childhood into his 40's and was for many years a staple at the NOR-WEST Rec Centre.

Rob married young to the love of his life Rose and at the time was a cylinder head specialist, he would later move on to CAN-CAR from which he took an early retirement to spend the rest of his years at his beloved camp. The camp he built with the lumber he cut and milled himself. He was quite ambitious and enjoyed a good days work. Rob was a very talented man to say the least.

Rob loved being at camp (except winters) but even then kept himself busy cutting wood.

He was a happy loving soul who always wore a genuine smile and had a joke to tell or one of his trademark jingles! Rob would leave an immediate impact on whomever he met and would befriend ppl in an instant. Rob is survived by his two sons Jeremy (Shawna), Ben (Keri) grandkids Melody Reed and Zachary DeFoy and his sweetheart and caregiver Sue. He will truly be missed by many people.

Please enjoy happy memories of this unique individual and know he is smiling down from the big tree stand in the sky! There will be a celebration of life on July 8th from 3 to 7pm at The Westfort on Brown St.

A huge shoutout to the wonderful and caring staff at St. Joes and the polite and professional people at Northwest Funeral Alternative for all your help! Much appreciated! Thankyou to all his friends and family who helped him over the years and through his final struggles, he loved you all.

So in conclusion we all wish you cold beers and big racks!

Until we meet again, keep em laughing ya old bag of chips!
