ROBERT ABBOTT Obituary

ROBERT HENRY ABBOTT
With grateful hearts, we celebrate a long life, beautifully lived. Mr. Robert Henry Abbott at the age of 98 years, passed away peacefully at Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre surrounded by family.

Robert was born May 26, 1927, in Yorkshire England, to Harry and Annie Abbott. He married his childhood sweetheart, Marjorie, and together they welcomed their first child, Michael, before immigrating to Port Arthur, Ontario, Canada. With hearts open wide, they welcomed a young girl into their home, who soon became their daughter, Clare. Their family was later completed with the birth of two daughters, Margaret and Robertyne.

Over the years, Robert worked for Canada Car, the Red Rock Credit Union, Domtar Mill in Red Rock and finishing his working years with Thunder Bay Housing.

Robert lived a very active life. He was a volunteer fireman in Red Rock. He was an active member at St. Peter's Anglican Church in Red Rock and St. Jude's Anglican Church in Thunder Bay. One of his greatest passions in life was his dedication to the Masonic Lodge, where he found brotherhood, purpose and service. After many years with the Masonic Lodge, he also joined the Eastern Star.

Beyond his family, Robert took great pride in the dairy and beef farm he owned and operated in South Gilles, and his cherished time spent at his beloved camp on Stewart Lake. There, he found joy in boating, water skiing, and making memories with family.

Robert will be deeply missed by his son, Michael Abbott (Nadine); daughters Margaret Nzeakor and Robertyne Gaudreau.

He will be idolized forever by his grandchildren, Karen (John), Patricia (Jamie), Rodney, Darryl (Lydia), Stephen (Jessica), Dustin (Corby), Krystal, Candace, Natasha (Jamie), A.J. (Kelly), Tara (Rodney), Shannon (James) and Dailyn (Robin). His legacy and love will live on through his 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Waiting to welcome Robert to Heaven was the love of his life Marjorie. His daughter Clare and his sons-in-law, Orvin, Marc and Emmanuel. His parents Harry and Anne Abbott, sister Doris and brother-in-law Frank. Also, by his mother and father-in-law Herbert and Ellen Bunting, sister-in-law Kathleen, brother-in-law Terry, nephew Paul.
