Robert Bolt Obituary

December 30, 1924 - November 5, 2016

I know that my Redeemer lives, I myself will see him.

~Job 19: 25a, 27a

The Lord has called home His child, Bob Bolt, age 91. Bob was born to parents, Izebrand and Jitske, in TenBoer, Groningen, Holland. In 1947, at the age of 22, he immigrated to Manitoba, Canada. After working for Searle Farms for approximately four years, he married Elsie Reenders and they moved to O'Connor Township where they started farming. In 1954 they bought a farm in Slate River Valley where they worked until retirement. His passion and love for farming was passed onto his children and grandchildren who run a thriving operation there today. They built a house near the farm on Hanna Road, and Bob continued to give a helping hand wherever he could. In 2001, they moved to Jasper Place where they lived until they passed away. Bob lived to serve his Lord and Saviour throughout his whole life. He prayed for and encouraged many people to follow the Lord. Bob was a founding member of Hope Christian Reformed Church. He was predeceased by his wife, Elsie in June of 2011. Bob is survived by his four children: - Judy (Dave) Abbas: Kelly, Jeanna (Nick) Post, Joel - Margriet (Sandy) Smids: Shanleigh (Jason) Murray; Kierstin and Kayden: Karin; Isabelle: Heidi (Brad) DeGroot; Madison and Joslin: Jos (Aimee); Owen, Jude and Emmy; Bo; Charlie - Irwin (Anna): Sheena (Nathan) Woods; Malachi, Preslee and Scarlett: Kyle (Michele): Brynlee and Lachlan: Bobby-Jay (Kayla): Jonah (Sheila): Dominique and Angeline Cranton: Danielle Zwarych - Marshall (Trudy): Douglas (Angie); Ava, Brooklyn and Emma: Mark (Sabrina); Pyatt, Ivy, Ruby, Jemma and Max: Jolene (David) Makkinga; Brendan, Kyler, John and Ryan: Emily (Chris) Streutker; Brianne, Carter and Braden. I have known Mr. and Mrs. Bolt as far as my memory goes back, but really got to know them some when I started hanging around with their eldest daughter, Judy, back in the 7th grade. I have fond memories of their kind hospitality the many times I visited in their home back in the 60's. My condolences go out to Mr. Bolt's family and friends, but especially to my forever friend, Judy, dear to my heart the last 50 years plus. Love and hugs to you and your family my friend.

"In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also" John 14: 2-4
