On November 25, 2017 we said our final good-byes to Robert (Bob) Fero. He passed away peacefully at TBRHSC. Bob persevered through his short illness with strength and determination.
Bob was a member of the Port Arthur West End Bruins 1948 Memorial Cup team. He played semi-pro hockey on the east coast and senior hockey in the Northwestern Ontario district before hanging up his skates to become a car salesman, a career he had for over 35 years. He was also a long-standing member of the Italian Mutual Benevolent Society.
Bob is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife of 64 years, Rose Marie; one sister, Gloria Murphy of Winnipeg; by sisters-in-law Rochelle Duchnicki (Tom), Maureen Wilson (Jack, deceased), Marlene Fero (Ray, deceased) and numerous nieces & nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joe Forunato & Emma Fero; his in-laws, Maurice & Mary Vaillancourt and his brothers and sisters: Jim, Bill, Joe, Ray, Helen, Emilia, Amelia, Mary, Yolanda, Rita, Furine and Lenora; his sister-in-law Kaye Vallincourt.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 when friends and family will gather for a funeral mass at 11:00 am at Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church celebrated by Rev. Victor DeGagne. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment to follow at a later date.
Should friends so desire donations to may be made in Bob's memory to TBRHSC Foundation or St. Joseph's Foundation of Thunder Bay.

I was always very happy to run into my Great Uncle Bob. He could put a smile on my face in an instant. It was always a proud moment to walk into Port Arthur Arena, look up at his Mem Cup team photo, and tell my teammates, "Hey, that's my Uncle Bob". Love and best wishes.
