ROBERT "BOB" CHARLES HARDICK February 13, 1931 - November 19, 2014 Mr. Robert "Bob" Charles Hardick, age 83 years, went home peacefully on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, after a lengthy illness, with his loving family and caring staff by his side in St. Joseph's Hospital. Bob was born on February 13, 1931 at the family home on Wiley Street in Fort William, son to Una and Charles Hardick and a brother for Vera. He attended Drew Street School and Fort William Vocational. Bob met the love of his life, Arlene Oliver and they were married on June 13, 1953. Bob worked at Sask Pool 6 and at Dairy Best and Kings Dairy as well as Mahons and Chapples as a Delivery Man. Bob was a Postal Carrier for 15 years before finishing his career with Everest Funeral Chapel. He was a member of Knox United Church, Pruden Street, a member of Branch 6 Legion for over 40 years and was a volunteer for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Bob's main focus was his home and family. He was a cheerful, kind man and will be deeply missed by all of those who knew him. Bob is survived by his wife of 61 years, Arlene; children Daniel (Lori), Betty Ann (Brent) Sutherland, David (Janis), Margaret (Thomas) Paglaro, Alison (Rankin) MacDonald and estranged daughter Susan; grandchildren Ashley, Chelsey ( Desiree Gordon), Carly (Ron Frost), Evan (Carolyn) Sutherland of New Zealand and Cory Sutherland, Brendan (Kayla Brown), Erin (Tuomas Minor), Stuart and Adam Shpulak, Derek Maki of Manitoba and Emma, Quinn and Claudia MacDonald as well as great-grandson Brayden Frost. He will be also missed by his sister, Vera Kearney (George), sisters-in-law Marilyn (Wayne) Lemcke, Karen (Robert) Davis and Marlane Allan (John), brothers-in-law James (Isobel) Oliver and Frederick (Cathy) Oliver as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Una Hardick and his in-laws Olivia Tennant and James Oliver. Funeral Services for the late Mr. Robert Hardick will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 2:00PM in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James. Private family interment will take place at a later date in Mountainview Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday evening from 7:00PM until 9:00PM in the Westfort Chapel. Should friends so desire, donations made in memory of Bob to Dr. Lai's Cardiac Program, TBRHSF-Northern Cancer Fund or St. Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care would be greatly appreciated.
