ROBERT MARCELLUS Obituary
MARCELLUS
Robert BRUCE Marcellus died at St. Joseph's Hospice in Thunder Bay, Ontario on May 20th, 2025. He was 73. Bruce was a longtime resident of Thunder Bay. He spent many of his younger years in Ottawa and in the Muskoka area. Bruce was a die-hard Leafs fan and, as a teen, played Junior A hockey in South Eastern Ontario. Bruce enjoyed fishing and loved to be outside, whether at the family cottage on Muldrew Lake in his early years or in the backyard of the house in Thunder Bay, relaxing in the hammock or reading the news on his iPad under the gazebo. He was a barbecue enthusiast, grilling year-round for many years, even if it meant he had to wear a snowmobile suit and hide out in the garage to stay warm. His burgers were a summer-time backyard dinner favourite. Bruce had a long and successful career in law enforcement and fire investigation but, if you asked him what his greatest accomplishment was, he would tell you that it is his family. He married his love, Brenda, and together they had two daughters, of whom he was always proud. His grandsons were his greatest joy in recent years and he followed their virtual play-dates and sports activities with great interest. His sons-in-law, his sisters, grand-dogs, and lifelong friend Doug were all very special to Bruce as well. Bruce was predeceased by his parents, younger brother, and beloved wife. He is survived and is greatly missed by his daughters, sons-in-law, and grandsons; his sisters and their families; and his friends. As per Bruce's wishes, there will be no service to mark his passing.
