ROBERT "BERT" WALLER June 22, 1969 ~ September 4, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Robert Jason Waller, lovingly known as Bert, on September 4, 2025, in Thunder Bay ON, at the age of 56.
Bert was born July 22, 1969, to Beverly and Jake Waller. Growing up, he developed a passion for working on cars - if it was broken, he could fix it. He even went as far as racing dirt track cars. His love for fixing vehicles and racing carried on to his sons. Bert held many jobs throughout his life, including working for the City of Thunder Bay, and he also enjoyed spending time on the computer learning programs and software. He shared a special bond with his Aunt Patricia Charlie, and Uncle Lyle, who became like second parents to him.
Bert was a proud father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed by his children: Serena (Jesse), Robert "Buzza" (Kamryn), and Tyson (Miranda), as well as his grandchildren: Serenity, Curtis, and Kohen. He will also be remembered by the mother of his children, Trudy Pelletier.
Bert leaves behind his sister Tammy Bannon (Leo); his brothers-in-life Lorne Charlie (Wendy), Lyle Charlie (Danielle), and Leonard Charlie (Connie); along with many nieces and nephews: Lauren Waller (Sterling), Lance Waller (Shaylah), Lynnea, Leyna, Levi, and Saydee; as well as Logan, Lacey, Marie, Lexie, Lorna, Lyle, Rainen, Mitchell, and Chad. He is also survived by his Aunt Louise "Cocoa" Ward and numerous extended family and friends.
He his predeceased by his son Jake Waller, his mother Beverley "Duz" Waller, his father Jake Waller, his sister Bonnie-Lynne Waller, his grandparents Martha Ward, Wilfred Louis, Ann and Ivan Szwaska, and his beloved aunt and uncle, Patricia and Lyle Charlie.
A traditional wake will take place on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 958 Squaw Bay Road, with funeral services held at St. Anne's Church, Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 11:00 am, followed by a luncheon. Bert will be cremated, and interment will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Blake Funeral Chapel, 200 May Street S.
