Roger Tremblay Obituary
Sadly our family announces the passing of Roger Tremblay, on Sunday, July 30, 2006, after an 8 year struggle with Pick's disease. Roger was born in Fort William, Ontario December 30, 1939 to Philomene and Armand Tremblay. He was the third of four children. Roger attended Selkirk High School and George Brown College where he apprenticed in the Sheet Metal trade. He was a proud tradesman for over 43 years and taught this trade at night school. Some of Roger's fondest memories were working for various companies, most recently at Fab-Air Metal Industries Ltd. , and the friends he made there. Roger was well liked by the many people he met. He was a Scout Leader and also enjoyed volunteering as a Big Brother. Roger enjoyed his many motorcycle trips and was a member of the "Retreads". Roger was proud of all his children and especially proud to be a Grandpa. Roger leaves behind his children: Darrell (Carla), Elyse, and Nicole (Mike) Koski; grandchildren: Devan, Taylor, Brooke and Bryce (of Florida).his brother Roland (Julie); sisters Libea (Albert) Smigel and Lillian McCarville. Roger will also be missed by his long time partner Marilyn Hurrell and her children: Stephen (Janice), Erica and Meagan, Lynn (Barry) and her family; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives in Quebec. Cremation has taken place and an Evening Visitation for the late Roger Tremblay will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 3rd, 2006, with Vigil Prayers the same evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street. A Private Graveside Service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Roger's memory to the Alzheimer's Society of Thunder Bay, or to Wesway would be greatly appreciated."
