It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ron Walker at Kingston General Hospital on January 5, 2018. He died peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family.
Ron was a long-time resident of Thunder Bay where he worked for over 40 years at Powell Equipment, eventually retiring as parts manager. Whether it be running marathons, 10-mile races or biking across the United States or Canada, Ron enjoyed an active lifestyle.
His meticulous character meant that any project he initiated, including building a deck or repairing bicycles, was done with diligence and care. Ron's appreciation of nature was evident in his passion for gardening where he tended to vegetables, trees and flowers. He also had a life-long love of animals, particularly for his dog, Buffy, or for any stray dog, bat or squirrel that ventured into his back yard (much to his wife's chagrin).
A long-time member of St. Agnes Parish, Ron sang in the choir, worked on the refugee committee, volunteered with the St. Vincent de Paul society and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Although a recent move brought him closer to family, Ron's heart remained in Thunder Bay where he will return to rest. His quiet presence will be missed by his wife, Charlotte, his son Greg (Amanda), his daughter Charmaine Bullett (Michael), granddaughters Cassandra, Jessica and Arianna, and his brother Gary Walker (Mary). Mass will be held at St. Agnes Church, Thunder Bay, on Saturday, January 20 at 12:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

To Charlotte and family:
We were so sorry to hear of Ron's passing. Larry enjoyed working with him all through their time at Powell and I enjoyed our little visits at the mall on his way for coffee. He will be missed by so many.
