HILL
Ronald (Ronnie) Joseph Hill, age 76 years, resident of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully at TBRHSC with his family by his side on June 22, 2023. He was born on December 20, 1946 in Fort Frances, Ontario. Ronnie is survived by his loving wife Alice, cherished daughter and son, Helen and Ronald. His dear step children are Doug Thompson (Louise), Keith Thompson, and Karen Kerr (Dave). He was a very proud Grandpa to Aiyana, Chayton, Amy, Cameron, Casey and Victoria. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren. He also leaves behind sister Betty Nash (Rod), brother Duwayne Dussome, brother-in-law Stan Plusa. Uncle to Joey Hill (Brynn, Brendon and Nate), Katie Nash (Will, Tyson, Colton), T.J. Nash (Julie, Liam and Austin). As well he had aunts, cousins and all of the special friends he hung out with regularly. Ronnie is predeceased by parents Charles Joseph Hill and Gladys Dussome, sister Donna Hill, brother Kelly Dussome, mother-in-law Lois Thompson and Alfie, brother-in-law Donnie Thompson and sister-in-law Carol Collins. He was employed with Canadian National Railway for 30 years as a Locomotive Engineer, retiring in 2002. He was passionate about driving trains for a living. Ronnie loved to travel. Of all the travelling he did, he loved Arizona the best. Driving down every winter with his wife Alice for fun in the sun to their own little paradise. They both loved this lifestyle. Family was very important to him. He hosted many family and friend gatherings. Some of the most treasured times were made listening to him play guitar and sing. He was a true entertainer. His friends were numerous over the years. He was a social guy that believed that having fun was important in life. His lust for life was seen in his fondness for the great outdoors. He loved to camp, fish and spent as much time as he could on the golf course with friends and family, after he retired at the young age of 51. Ronnie was loved very much and will be missed by all. He is now a beacon of light, shining it brightly on us, with his love, from above. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, August 18, 2023, at 2:00pm, at the Westfort Prosvita Society, where he was a longtime member. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations to Anishnawbe-Mushkiki would be greatly appreciated.
