Rosa Erna Ojavee

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Rosa Erna Ojavee (nee Helmuth) announce that Rosa passed away peacefully at the age of 94 at the St. Catharines General Hospital on March 25, 2021. Rosa was born in Nuremburg Germany January 22, 1927 and immigrated to Canada in 1952 to unite with her husband Endel who came to Canada two years prior to her arrival.

Rosa is survived by her children Elisabeth, Jaak and Peeter, grandchildren Jeff (Karen), Lara (Peter) Chris (Shyla), Ryan and Katie. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Alex, Kate, Carter, Jaakson, Josh, Jake, John and Jaqueline.

Rosa and Endel settled in Terrace Bay in 1962 where they built a home and raised their three children. Rosa was a tireless worker who retired in 1992 from the Birchwood Terrace Home for the Aged in Terrace Bay.  She fully enjoyed her retirement years in Terrace Bay and then St. Catharines and by travelling to Germany, Toronto and Kamloops BC to visit family.

Mom touched the hearts of all who knew her. She was dearly loved by family and friends. Her ever present smile and kind heart will forever be missed. Mom easily made friends wherever she went because her kind and loving personality was immediately evident to people when meeting her for the first time. Mom had so many wonderful friends in Terrace Bay, friends who were always there for her when needed. Thank you, she loved you all so much.
