HANLAN
With profound sadness the family of Rose Hanlan announce her passing on September 26th, 2023, following a brief illness. Mom was born June 12th, 1931, in Spedden Alberta. Together with her husband Ernie they moved to Fort William in 1955. They lovingly raised five children at their home on East Christina St. Once the kids were grown, Rose took a job working in the concession at Neebing Arena, a job she truly enjoyed. So much so that she stayed for 26 years. Mom and Dad loved camping and fishing with their close group of friends back in their younger years and cutting a rug on the dance floor. Thankfully we all seem to have inherited Mom and Dad's special sense of humour. Rose is survived by daughter Rubylynn, sons Randy (Sirpa), Ray and Roy. Grandchildren Cherisse, James (Anita), Chantal (Brian), Kimberly (Jamie), Thomas (Patience), Ron and Randall (Aimee) as well as her sisters Mary and Jane. Predeceased by her parents Catherine & Peter Spodarek, sisters Anne and Pearl, loving husband Ernest in 2007, son Ron in 2018 and son-in-law Jason in 2022. As per Mom's wishes a private graveside service will be held. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Ward, the nurses in the Oncology unit 1A at TBRHSC and to Theresa and Nadia in the Hospice unit at St Joe's for your kindness, compassion, and professionalism.
