Rudolphe Desaulniers Obituary
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Rudolphe (Rudy) Desaulniers in Ottawa on October 12th, 2015 at the age of 89. He was a long time resident of Longlac. Survived by his beloved wife Bernadette (Poulin) and loving father of Johanne (Jean Veilleux), Ron, Pierre (Marianne), Jeannot (Crystal), Louise (Andrew MacKenzie), Claude (Sherry), Rene (Christine) and Simon and 15 grandchildren. He was a founding member of the Longlac Minor Hockey Association and served as a school board trustee and managed the local Legion branch for many years. The family will hold a private memorial in Ottawa on Friday, October 16th at Windsor Park Manor with plans for a public memorial in Longlac at a future date. Sorry to hear about Rudy's passing. Was great to see him at Cory and Kayla's wedding. I had the pleasure of working with Rudy many years ago within the Mill in Longlac. He was a great man. Our condolences to all of his family.

Our Deepest condolences to the Desaulniers Family, as many of us know Rudy was a longtime resident of Longlac, and made a major difference in our community, be it hockey, the legion which remembrance day wont be the same without him, I also had the pleasure to work with him at Kimberly Clark in the office, he kept us laughing and on our toes, he always had a smile for you or a hello as he went for his daily walks uptown, we will miss him greatly

My condolences go out to the Desaulniers family during this difficult time. Rudy had such a positive effect on the youth of Longlac. He was a source of encouragement and spent decades involved with Longlac Minor Hockey and youth sports. His home was always welcoming and I will always remember Christmas gatherings at their home. I am sorry to hear about your loss. I was heartbroken by this sad news. I will never forget when Rudy presented a hockey trophy to me and announced that this trophy goes out to Goldie Locks along with other encouraging, inspirational, kind and warm words. Rudy was a dedicated mentor to me and treated me like one of his own family members and I believe many of the kids of Longlac will say the same. I am sorry I could not convey my condolences in person. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

My condolences to the Desaulniers family.
As a young boy growing up in Longlac Ontario, "Rudy" was one of my hockey coaches. How I remember those hockey practices on that outdoor rink over at the "townsite"; we were always hoping that "Rudy" or someone might have the key to the canteen so we could have a pop and chips after the practice. Oh those cold nights!! The smell of wood smoke from the wood fire in the "change room" still lingers in my mind.

" Our hearts and thoughts are with you all during this sad time as we know how difficult it is to lose a Dad .
