Russell Gammond Obituary
1942 - 2004Russell Earl Gammond age 62 years, a resident of Kakabeka Falls, Ontario, died peacefully, after a brief battle with cancer, at his home Thursday, September 9, 2004, surrounded by his family's love. Born in Fort William, he lived all is life in this area. He started working as a truck driver at an early age and spent his whole life in the Trucking and Wood Industry. Russell is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lorie, his son Mark (Debbie) Gammond, daughters Angela (David) Nummikoski, and Amanda Gammond. Granddaughters, Nicole and Karlene Nummikoski. Sisters Evelyn Setala and Eleanor (Mike) Shuslawy, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father,Edgar Gammond, mother, Christine Jackson, and step-father Norman Jackson. He will always be remembered for his ready smile, his optimistic outlook on life, his generous heart and his consummate skills as a truck driver. A private family service was held on Monday, September 13, 2004 with Pastor Fred Hubert Officiating. As per Russ's wishes cremation followed. A memorial service for family and friends was held on Friday, September 17, 2004, at the Current River Community Centre conducted by Pastor Ed Long. If friends should so desire, donations to the Northern Ontario Cancer Research Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated."
