It is with profound sadness that the family of Russell Paxton announces his passing due to a tragic accident at his home in Calgary on November 1, 2016. Russell will be forever loved and remembered by his parents Kirk and Darlene Paxton; brother and sister-in-law Ryan and Rachel Paxton; niece Victoria and nephew Evan. Russell will also be missed by Grandmothers Geraldine Paxton and Wanda Eckman as well as his Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. Russell was employed as a teacher at Rundle College Elementary School in Calgary. He was well loved and respected by his Students and his Peers. He was a people person with a great sense of humour and a zest for life. He was daring, fearless and genuine. A Service was held Monday, November 7, 2016 at St. Albert the Great in Calgary followed by a social gathering at the Cranston Century Hall also in Calgary. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Current River Community Centre located at 450 Dewe Avenue, Thunder Bay, Ontario on Sunday, November 13, 2016 between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Everyone Welcome.

Goodbye, Russ. We always lived in different cities but our few meetings left me with strong and memorable impressions. I would have liked to know you better but now I'm doing that belatedly and vicariously, through others, as they remember you. You left a lot of stories and smiles behind.
