She enjoyed curling, golfing, quilting and flying in Thunder Bay. She moved back to Toronto in 2018, at age 87, to be closer to her family. Predeceased by her husband Joszef Farkas, and her daughter Beverley Townsend (Nee Turner). Survived by her daughter Heather (Richard) Fraser, grandson Glenn Fraser of Toronto, grandson Stuart (Monica) Fraser and great-granddaughter Olivianna, all of Ajax, Ontario. I knew Joanne as my teacher at CECI in St Thomas and then as a panel member for my Supervisory Officers oral exam (I passed) and later as an EO from Central Ontario Regional Office when I was there to do a presentation. She was a both friendly and classy lady in all those encounters. Good memories.

Sorry for your loss, Joanne corresponded with my Mom and Dad (Lorne and Marjorie Mitton) and my uncle Lloyd Mitton for many years and kept them updated on her activities and those of your family. They always greatly enjoyed her letters! She will be missed.
