Ryan Yacuik Obituary

October 9th, 1992 to
May 7th, 2021

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the final life journey to a destination of peace and tranquility of Ryan John Yacuik, which began on Friday, May 7th, 2021, at the young age of 28. Ryan will lovingly be remembered and forever cherished by his parents John and Lori Yacuik, his big brother Logan, and little sister Breanna (Austin), grandparents Dian Acciavatti, Ken and Daele Mcmillan, Uncles and Aunts Gino and Shelley Vecchio, Robert and Donna Yacuik, John and Sandra Hallada, Great Uncle and Aunt Brett and Shareen Cowie, as well as numerous cousins and extended family and friends. Ryan will also be dearly missed by Melissa, who cared for him and treated him like her own son. Along with his best bros Cody, Brian (BJ), Rob, Andy, and Dan. Ryan is predeceased by his “Gramps” Ken West of Sault Ste. Marie. Ryan was born in Thunder Bay and attended Holy Family Grade School and St. Patrick 's High School. During his last year of high school, Ryan completed his basic military training, something he loved and was so proud of. Every time Ryan would enter a room, he would light it up with his big smile. Ryan also had the biggest heart, and he would give you the shirt off his back or the last dollar in his pocket if you needed it. Ryan enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting, and every time he stepped into a boat, he would have the hugest smile on his face as he was in his happy place. Anyone that had the opportunity to cross paths with Ryan would know that he was a kind and gentle soul and that his light was second to none. Although we have deep sadness in our hearts, we find solace in knowing that Ryan is in a better place and free of struggle and pain. Cremation will take place, and a celebration of life and interment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Joseph's Health Centre, Sister Margaret Smith Centre, Ken Brown Recovery Home, Crossroads Centre, Shelter House – Thunder Bay or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated in remembrance of our precocious Ryan. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 332 North May Street, Thunder Bay.
