Sandra Colosimo Obituary

1951 - 2011 Sandra Elaine Colosimo passed away peacefully with her family at her side on December 10, 2011. Sandy had a great love for children of all ages and chose a career as an early childhood educator. Together with Mike, she raised her two beautiful, loving and successful children, Jonathan and Alison. Earlier this year, she danced the night away at Jonathan's wedding to Karman, and in August she was bravely at Alison's side as she gave birth to Sandy's first grandchild, Abigail. For 31 happy years of marriage with Mike, Sandy enjoyed life, travel, and especially the many large gatherings of family and friends. Sandy was blessed with nine sisters and one brother, and because of her large family she appreciated the simplest but most important things in life: faith, love and family. Sandy enjoyed shopping and scrapbooking and she had a love for animals, especially dogs. She loved her "little one", her cocker spaniel, Troika. Sandy was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Allie Grant, sister Marlene Brewer (Richard) and sister Joyce Baraskewich (Gilbert). She is survived by husband Mike, son Jonathan (Karman) and daughter Alison Tjong (Albert), granddaughter Abigail Tjong, brother Frank Grant (Dianne), sisters Dolores Kennelly (Allen), Heather Cropley (Merle), Barbara Sakiyama (Darryl), Linda Turner (Jim), Lorraine Compardo (Ron), Peggy Simons (John), and Kelly Macaro (Ben), mother-in-law Anita Colosimo, brother and sister-in-law Karen and Warren Kutchyera and brothers-in-law Mark and Paul Colosimo. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Calvary Lutheran Church with Pastor Brian Lee presiding. Donations to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Fund would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Sandra Colosimo in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.
