Sandra Rezka Obituary

Sandra May Rezka, aged 56, passed away peacefully in St. Joseph's Hospice in the early hours of July 16, 2017 after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on May 28, 1961 and lived in Current River all her life. She loved to ride her bike and visit family and friends. She spent her free time doing many puzzles and she proudly would take pictures of her latest project to show off. She loved to spend time with family, laughing and teasing the boys. She loved her nieces and nephews, showing off pictures of them whenever she could. Everyone knew that she loved Jon Bon Jovi, spending time listening to his songs was a favourite pastime as well. She also liked to visit the dear ladies at the RBC on Hodder and Current River Bakery. She loved animals, especially her Kitty Cat, Cleo who didn't leave her side in her last few days at home.

She will be lovingly remembered by her brothers, Daniel (Donnah), Tom (Eva), sisters, Lorraine, Susan (Alan) Craig as well as nieces, Jenna (Jim), Becca (Travis), Sashah (Nadir), Alyssa (Mitch) and nephews William, Chris (Lynn), DJ Folino (Steph), Kurt Folino. Also, by her great nephew, Alex Rezka and great nieces, Artiqah Rezka and Brynlee Rehula as well as many relatives and friends.

She is predeceased by her parents, Bill Rezka 1969 and May Rezka 1992 as well as many other relatives who were there to greet her on the other side to continue her journey.

A Celebration of Life will take place at the Current River Rec Centre, 450 Dewe Avenue, on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 from 1 - 3 p.m. followed by a private family interment.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, The Northern Cancer Fund, Thunder Bay District Humane Society of the charity of your choice.

My condolences, thoughts and prayers to all of the Rezka family. When I was a kid I was good friends with Tom, and spent a lot of time at the Rezka house. Sandra was always a gentle and kind girl and I am very sorry she has left us so early.

Please accept our deepest condolences. I was very saddened to hear of Sandra's passing. I have fond memories of Sandra growing up in Current River "down the back lane" from us.
