SANDY HERRON Obituary

November 17, 1964 - January 6, 2026
It is with broken hearts and profound sorrow that we sadly announce the sudden passing of our beloved Sandy on January 6, 2026, while in Florida. Born November 17, 1964, Sandy grew up in a loving home with parents James and Shirley, alongside her siblings Donna, Jimmy and Andrew. Sandy took pride in her roots and would proudly say "I'm from Westfort, Ontario!". She attended Crawford and Heath Park elementary schools and in 1982, she graduated from Westgate High School. Sandy tried a few different jobs after graduating, eventually settling into a job at Canada Car. After only a few years, Sandy became restless and started thinking "I can't see myself behind this desk for another forty years!". A coworker, aware of her feelings, told her about a course offered at the college that was designed to help you find your true calling in life. He suggested that they take it together and Sandy, who was always ready to try something new, agreed to join him. After completing the course, she determined that she should become a realtor. Unafraid of any challenge, Sandy announced to her parents to their dismay, that she was quitting her job to become a real estate agent. Alone at the age of twenty-five, she boldly quit that job determined to become a success. Sandy did indeed achieve that success consistently being a top producer in Thunder Bay, and reaching the number one position for multiple years. Sandy's positive energy, outgoing personality and genuine caring for people were key to her success. She was so good with people that many of her clients became longtime friends. In 2005, Sandy met the love of her life, Frank. They were best friends, partners in life and in business. They enjoyed the simplest times together as much as the biggest moments in their lives. They had many adventures together travelling and building memories. In 2019, they scaled back on work, easing into semi-retirement and spending their last seven winters at their home in Florida. Sandy is survived by her loving partner Frank, mother Shirley and siblings Donna, Jimmy and Andrew. She was predeceased by her father James, grandparents Earl and Gertrude Herron and grandparents Alex and Edith Stevenson. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to celebrate Sandy's life.

I worked with Sandy at CanCar. When I received a phone call with the news that my grandmother had died, Sandy noticed that something was wrong. She came to my desk, gathered me up in her arms and escorted me outside to wait for my ride. I did not know Sandy for long, as I only worked with her for about six months, but I'll never forget her kindness. Rest in peace Sandy.
