It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the sudden passing of a beloved son, brother, nephew, grandson and friend. Scott William McEwan born on November 30, 1979 was called back home on Monday, May 30, 2016. Scott will be deeply missed by his mother Darlene, father Bob, sister Tara, brother Kory, grandmother Lydia, several aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends. Scott worked for the City of Thunder Bay at the golf courses for the past 13 years. He was an avid fan of the Boston Bruins, Toronto Blue Jays and the Chicago Bears and someone always gave him flack whenever one of them lost. Growing up, Scott played several sports such as hockey, baseball, football and as an adult continued playing softball and tried to golf once in awhile. Scott's favourite thing to do was to spend time at his family's camp with both family and friends. Scott attended St. Thomas Elementary School, Sacred Heart Junior High and St. Patrick's High School graduating with numerous awards and honors. He went on to Seneca College for 2 years and graduated with his Golf Course Technician Diploma. Scott, a.k.a. “The Body” was always the life of the party. His sense of humour and the way he made everyone laugh and smile will be deeply missed by every single person that ever met him. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 3, 2016 at St. Patrick's Cathedral at 3:00 p.m. Following the service there will be a reception at the DaVinci at 4:00 p.m. At the request of the family, it is encouraged that everyone wear their favourite Sports Jersey to the DaVinci, (The Body's Farewell Jersey Party). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to P.R.O. Kids and or the TBCDSB Awards Trust Fund (McEwan Family Award).
Scott McEwan will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 11, 2017.

Scott was an amazing person and no matter what was going on whenever I would see him at the outdoor rink or at Timmy's grabbing coffee he always had a smile on his face. You will be missed by all Scott. RIP my friend. MLC Brothers for life.
