Stanley William Craib passed away peacefully at age 97 on Sept. 20, 2025.

Stan moved to Fort William from Winnipeg in 1951 to manage Rutledge Stationary, then purchased & ran the company until retirement in 1994.

Predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Anne (Silvey), Stanley is survived by their sons Gary Craib, James Craib (Karen) & Michael (Linda Dawn Hammond), grandchild Alex Craib-Holder, & brother Douglas Craib.

At Stan's request, cremation has taken place. His ashes will be interred with Anne's at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

A Celebration of Life is planned Monday, Oct. 6, 5 to 7 PM, at the Foundry Restaurant, 242 Red River Road, Thunder Bay. All who knew Stanley are welcome to attend.

Yesterday

Just out of High School and looking for a job. I found out later that because my brother played Hockey for the Fort William Hurricanes, Stan hired me. Apparently he was the head of the Hurricanes organization. Rest in Peace Stan, I will always remember you and am so grateful for the welcome to the business world.
