Stefania Hoshizaki Obituary

In loving memory of Stefania "Freda" Hoshizaki, age 95 years, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 18th at Princess Court Long Term Care.Born and raised in Arnes, Manitoba, on the family farm, she was the daughter of Siggi and Johanna (Finnbogason) Thorkelson. Freda is survived by her children Philip Thorkelson (Rosemary), Valerie Nordin, Warren, Blaine (Susan), Sheryl, Jennifer (Denis) and Edward (Kathy) Hoshizaki, 8 grandchildren Sayla (Scott), Hilary, and Mylee Nordin, Tomiko Hoshizaki, Thomas Buchanan, Thomas and Joa Hoshizaki, 2 great grandchildren Bennette and Sam, sisters Metta and Emily, brother Harold, her long-time friend Betty Borger, as well as numerous other relatives.Freda was predeceased by her husband Tommy Hoshizaki, her son-in-law Gib Nordin, brother Sam Thorkelson and sisters Jona Gunter-Smith and Gudridur Kristrun Dyck. A Memorial Service to celebrate Freda's life will be held Monday, November 24th, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ukrainian Hall, Dryden, ON. Interment of ashes will be held at a later date.If friends desire donations may be made to Second Chance Pet Network or Hoshizaki House through the Stevens Funeral Homes P.O.
