STEVE SALO Obituary

August 30, 1962 ~ August 16, 2023
It is with tears in our eyes, heavy hearts and great sadness that Michael and Johnny announce the passing of the youngest of the Salo boys, our brother Steve Kevin Salo, age 60. Steve lived all his life in Nipigon, he was an outdoor enthusiast who loved to find that little lake or creek to try his skill at catching the elusive speckled trout or the not so elusive pickerel.

Steve was employed with Canadian Pacific Railways when he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2014. He never complained once when his physical abilities started to diminish. He accepted his condition and made due. His future was looking bright and positive as he was recently selected to be a candidate for Deep Brain Stimulation Surgery (DBS).

He will be greatly missed by his brothers Michael and Johnny, his walking buddies Mike and Paul, his neighbour Wilbur and his lifelong friends and past co-workers.

Steve was predeceased by his parents Marvin and Irene, his brother Richard (in infancy) and his brother Mark. He is survived by his brothers Johnny and Michael, nephew Tyler, many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Special thanks to Mike and Debbie, Noel and Bev, Paul and Susan, the Officers of the Nipigon OPP detachment and everyone who helped in the search for Steve.

A celebration of Life for Steve will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street, Thunder Bay.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Parkinson Canada, www.parkinson.ca
