Dear Lorraine and family
It is with great sadness that I heard about Steve´s passing. My sincere condolences to all. I remember Steve very well from my short two years at Churchill and for a number of years prior through mutual teaching colleagues. Steve was a character - one of a kind! He had the greatest smile and sense of humour. His obituary was one of the best I have ever read and truly brought out his love of family, adventure and travel. I´m saddened that he struggled with his cancer journey!
I know you will miss Steve so much! May his wonderful memories comfort you forever!

While attending university, I remember being perplexed in the amount of Chemistry I remembered from High School, even years after my last class in high school - this was only due to having a great, charismatic teacher who was always able to keep the classroom engaged. Steve is one of the few teachers I will never forget as he made a great, positive difference in my life and after all these years, he is still one of the only teachers I can say I have ever respected.
Rest in peace, Steve. My deepest condolences to his family at this difficult time.

Lorraine and Peter,
We are so very sad to hear this news. Our memories of working with Steve at Churchill never fail to bring a smile. His zest for life, positivity and courage in the face of great adversity should be a lesson for us all. An incredibly well lived life ended much too soon. Please know we are thinking of you.

I knew Steven when he was a teenager. I knew then he was special. He was deep and interesting. A few years later he came by for a visit, shared some of his adventures, and made me feel proud to know him. My thoughts are with his family. Rest in peace Steven. Ken

Dear Lorraine, Peter and family, what a special privilege it was for me to be a student of Steve´s at Churchill. He was a huge influence on my education and his zest for life and learning fueled my own. I thoroughly enjoyed running into Steve and Lorraine at the airport a year and a half ago after many years post high school and catch up. I will always remember Steve very fondly and his part in helping me with my presentation for my LU scholarship and letting me borrow his white lab coat for it. I got the scholarship and the rest is history. He was loved by so many

I'm so sorry to hear of his passing! As my high school teacher, Lankin was a huge influence in my life and a foundation of my worldview. 15 years after graduating I still remember many of his stories fondly and think the world of him. Much love to his friends and family he leaves behind, I can't imagine the hole his passing leaves. Steve was truly larger than life and he will be remembered by so many of the students he taught.

So very sorry to hear of his passing. He will be fondly remembered by myself and many of his other students. Chemistry was my favourite subject and "Lankin" as so many of us referred to him as was one of my very favourite teachers throughout high school. We kept in touch through Facebook long after I graduated. My thoughts are with his family at this difficult time. May you find peace knowing how wonderful and influential Steve was to so many.

So sorry to read of Steve's passing. Our condolences to Lorraine and family. We looked forward to seeing and chatting with Steve every fall when he would come deer hunting on our property. (We privately referred to him as Deer Steve). He was such a friendly and interesting man. He will be missed.

Lorraine,
Have not lost my spouse, so don´t know what it is like to experience this kind of loss. Best wishes. One day at a time.
Seeing your name brought back a number of memories when we first met at Hammarskjold and concluded at Churchill.
Cheers, Ron Haworth
