Susan Kathleen Cameron passed away peacefully in her sleep after her 9 year journey with breast cancer on Saturday October 20th, 2012 at St. Joseph's Hospice. Susan was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta on May 27, 1954 to the late Edward and Kathleen Mack. Susan moved to this area in 1976 to work at Jack Cameron's Cedar Shores Resort in Jellicoe, ON. It was here that Susan met the love of her life, Terry, and they were soon after married in 1977. Susan began her career in hospitality at the Airlane Motor Hotel in 1985, working various positions and eventually becoming the General Manager in 2006 at the Travelodge-Airlane. She was past president of the Thunder Bay Executive Association, the Thunder Bay Business Women's Network, Rotary Inner Wheel, past director of the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce and sat on the executive of the North of Superior Tourist Association. She became a patient family advisor at the cancer centre and most recently was asked to sit on the Exceptional Cancer Care Cabinet for the TBRHSC Foundation. Susan always enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities including fishing, golfing, curling and skiing as well as gardening, cooking and scrapbooking. Susan especially enjoyed her time at the cottage at Mackenzie Beach on Lake Superior. Susan cherished the time she spent there making memories with her 2 beloved grandsons, Mack and Cameron.
