Susan Wolframe Obituary
Susan Alma Wolframe (Hosegood) aged 53, passed away peacefully at Port Arthur General Hospital on Tuesday, September 11, 2001 at 2:00 pm. She died after a brief battle with liver cancer, originating from an earlier episode of breast cancer. Susan was born January 21, 1948 in Fort William. She attended Westgate Highschool and completed her Bachelor of Arts at Lakehead University. She then became a speech pathologist after completing her Master of Science degree at Pennsylvania State University. After working in speech pathology, she went on to get her teaching certificate at Lakehead University. Susan loved children weather in the classroom or in co-ordinating many extra-curricular activities over her 23 years of teaching. Susan was an active member of the Thunder Bay Quilter's Guild, a former member of the Thunder Bay Kennel Club, a founding member of the Thunder Bay Genealogical Society and a volunteer at Old Fort William in the Neebing Brigade for many years. She was a lifelong member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church and friend of the Lakehead Unitarian Fellowship. Susan loved cooking, spending time with her family, learning piano in her later years, and she was always seen reading a book. She is lovingly missed and remembered by her family. She is survived by husband Barry, daughter PhebeAnn, mother and father Marjory and George Hosegood, aunt Elizabeth McGarrigle, brother Bill and wife Cathy (Dryden), brother Ian and wife Lynn, brother-in-law Dan and wife Gwen, sister-in-law Linda Boivin, nieces and nephews Dallas Cairns (Calgary), Christopher Hosegood (England), Cassandra Hosegood (Regina), Michael Hosegood, Trisha Peterson, Kristi Peterson, Steven Hosegood, David Peterson, Jamie Nisbet (Vancouver Island), Robin Havelin (Calgary), and many cousins and their children. Funeral services celebrating Susan's life will be held Saturday, September 22, 2001 at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church at 10:30 am. Luncheon reception to follow service. Donations can be made in Susan's name to the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital, or the Canadian Cancer Society."
