Susan Doman Obituary

SUSAN DOMAN May 25th, 1958 - August 19th, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Susan Rose Doman on Tuesday, August 19th, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. Susan was born in Fort William, Ontario on May 25th, 1958 to Alice and Andrew Drndak. She grew up in the East End and resided in Northwood for most of her life. She started working for Bell Canada as a repair clerk in 1976 and proudly retired in February 2023. She met the love of her life John in 1979. Throughout the years they travelled, played softball and visited family. They wed on May 21st, 1983, and spent 42 beautiful years together. Over the years they had two beautiful children and three dogs that she cared about immensely. Susan is survived by her husband John, son Richard (Christine), daughter Andrea (Tyler Savioli), grandchildren Natalie, Charlie and Isaac, her sisters Debbie (Burns), Theresa (Anthony Widla), Donna (Brian Walker), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Alice and Andrew Drndak, sisters Barbara, Karen-Louise (in infancy) as well as her mother-in-law Margaret Doman, father-in-law Everett Doman, sister-in-law Bette-Sue Kenny and her brother-in-law Tom Kenny. Family would like to express sincere appreciation and thanks to the staff of 1A Oncology at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for their outstanding care and compassion during this extremely difficult time, especially Dr. Al-Katari, Dr. Lubbers, Dr. Dykstra, Dr. Ward, and a special heartfelt thank you to Dr. Moorhouse. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 22nd, 2025, at St. Peter's RC Church at 10am celebrated by Rev. Joseph Arockiam with visitation beginning at 9am. A private interment will immediately follow the funeral at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements entrusted to Blake Funeral Chapel 200 May St. S. In lieu of flowers, family is requesting donations be made to the Northern Cancer Fund.
