Cheresniowski, Tekla (Tillie)June 20, 1907 - May 16, 2001Tillie Cheresniowski of Grandview Lodge passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2001 at the age of 93. She was born on June 20, 1907 in the City of Nyrkow, Province of Zaleszczyki. She was married to Stanley Cheresniowski on February 1, 1930. He predeceased her on March 10, 1969. Tillie came to Canada from the Ukraine in 1929 and had made her home here since. She had previously worked at Grandview Lodge, Local 268. Her home and family were her main interests. She is survived by daughters Nancy (Peter) Zaroski, Pat (Jim) Diakow and Marie Zadorozny and son Michael Cheroski. She is survived by 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by cousins Mary Niznik and Pauline Beal (Oshawa, Ontario), Mike Malanych (Cambridge, Ontario), Dr. Bud Saunders, (Thunder Bay). She was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Tekena Oziminski, brothers Michael and Peter and sister Paraska, all in the Ukraine, son-in-law Peter Zadorozny, and grandchildren Jim Cheroski, Marilyn Linger and Alex Brianna Cooper, daughter-in-law Cecilia Cheroski. Prayers will be held at Jenkens Funeral Home on Thursday, May 17, 2001 at 7:30 p.m. with Father William Maluzynski of St. Vladymir's of All Saints Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church officiating. Funeral services for Mrs. Tillie Cheresniowski will be held on Friday, May 18, 2001 leaving Jenkens Funeral Home at 9:00 a.m. to St. Vladymir's of All Saints Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church, 1502 Mountdale Avenue at 9:30 a.m. flowers gratefully declined. Donations in her memory may be made to the Children's Wish foundation or The Canadian National Institute for the Blind."
