TERRENCE ZULIANI Obituary

It is with broken hearts that we share the unexpected passing of Terrence Joseph Zuliani (Terry), on February 2nd, 2026, at the age of 70, in Puerto Vallarta. In a way that perfectly reflected his spirit, Terry left this world exactly as he lived it; surrounded by those who loved him and with a beverage in hand!

Terry was born on September 18th, 1955, in Fort William. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He is survived by: his beloved wife, Joanne; son, Joey Zuliani (Raymond); daughter, Dana Hiltunen (Tom); step-daughter, Kylie Gardiner (Erik); and his cherished grandchildren Tye, Cooper, Carter, and Kaitlyn, who were constant sources of pride and joy. He is also survived by his siblings, Richard Zuliani, Penny Bader (Larry), and Lee Hoesly (Robin). He is also survived by Kelly Koski and Christopher Zuliani along with many extended family members, including his former wife, Rose Zuliani, and other lifelong friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Brini and Ann Zuliani, as well as his birth mother, Jean Bisaro.

A second-generation owner of Breeny's Auto Body Shop, Terry, along with his partners Jim and Gino, proudly expanded and carried on the family business to levels beyond anything his father could have imagined. He built and grew Apple Auto Glass and was involved in several other ventures over the years. Through his drive, business acumen, and determination, Terry became a well-known and highly respected figure in the Thunder Bay automotive and business community. His reputation was built on grit, integrity, and an uncompromising work ethic traits that defined both his professional and personal life.

In his younger years, Terry had a passion for stock car racing. Competitive to his core, he unapologetically took pride in being known as one of the "dirtiest drivers" on the track a title he wore with humor, confidence, and a trademark grin. If you ever had the pleasure of being a passenger of Terry's, you know that he still drove like he was on the track! Later in life, he could always be found helping family and friends with home renovations or mentoring others. He truly was everyone's "go-to" guy and possessed valuable, endless knowledge that we will all miss.

On a Friday the 13th in 1999, Terry met his beloved wife, JoAnne. Once they retired, they embraced a life full of adventure, laughter, and connection. For over a decade, they spent their winters in Fort Myers Beach, and their summers at their cherished lakefront home at Green Point a true happy place where family and friends gathered. They later took their adventures to Puerto Vallarta. Together, they loved to celebrate life and made friends wherever they went, bringing warmth, humour, and energy to every gathering. Whether hosting lively get-togethers, enjoying nights out, or traveling, Terry and JoAnne created countless memories and shared their joy with everyone lucky enough to know them. Terry loved his "Lucy" more than life itself.

Terry was a man people remembered. He had a commanding presence, a sharp sense of humour, and an authenticity that made him impossible to forget. He was proud of what he built, loyal, and never afraid to be exactly who he was. Whether it was sharing a laugh with friends, a night out, or family gatherings (fires at the lake, Coppock Cup), he was always able to get a party started and often left people laughing and with stories to re-tell.

A celebration of life and drop-in cocktail hour will be held at the Da Vinci Centre on February 13th, at 3:00-6:00, with tributes at 4:00. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the TBRHSC Foundation to support the Cardiovascular Surgery Fund in Terry's honor.

My condolences to the Family. My Dad Gino Savietto and Terry were not only partners at Breeny´s but as close a family could be without being blood. My dad would often take me to the shop on weekends to work on our next family car. Terry welcomed me with no question. He was a tall man with a perpetual smile. He would stop by to see my dad in his last days and tell stories of all the crazy things they had done over so many years. My Dad would laugh even though he was so ill. We all had such an uplifting day that day. I was so shocked at Terry´s passing. He was always so kind and will be forever in my heart.

Terry and I crossed paths while trying to establish that we had musical talent and Olympic capabilities on the track at SWCCVI. As life often does we went in different directions and it was maybe twenty years later that we crossed paths when I needed repair work on my truck. He instantly recognized me and soon we were reliving our days from high school. He was not one to look down on a person and naturally made you feel important to him. He was one of kind, and will be greatly missed.

Uncle Terry wasnt actually my uncle. But thats how I always knew him. Hes been in my life as far back as I can remember. He was my dad's best friend, and my brothers Godfather. I remember him finding out that I was struggling with bullying and he gave me advice that ive since told my own kids. He was always consistent - not just for my parents, but for us.
