TERRY DAVIS Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Terry E Davis. Terry was born March 4th, 1958 in California, USA. His family moved back to Canada and settled in Port Arthur. Terry was the middle child of three (Bill & Cathy) and their family along with aunts, uncles and cousins took up the entire block on Balsam St. Terry graduated from Hillcrest High School, Confederation College Survey Program and went on to work 35+ years at J.D. Barnes Ltd. as a surveyor, draftsman and pipeline specialist.

Terry had a few hobbies. He was a past member of McGillivray Pipe Band where he had won national drum competition and was part of the group that marched in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California. He loved hockey and grew up refereeing and cheering on his Oilers. He was a die-hard Dodger Blue fan and faithfully cheered them on with his friend J.R. He shared success on the curling ice as well through the college school boys. His biggest success was being the founder of the Sticks and Stones little rock curling program. For 30 years he introduced the game to hundreds of children who went on to become life-long curlers, provincial and national champions. He shared joy and excitement in each of their victories.

Terry was predeceased by his Father Edward, his sister Cathy, best friend Clint Barton, Co-Founders of the Sticks and Stones Angus Backman, and Terry's Mother Lucille Romick (Petrone). He will be loved and remembered by Son Micheal (Jorji), Grandchildren Parker, Beckham, & Blair, Brother Bill (Regina), nephews Billy, Graham, Keith, TJ, and other family, friends and members of the P.A.C.C.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Port Arthur Curling Centre on Saturday, June 8th from 1pm-4pm. Stop by, remember Terry, and share a story. In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorial contributions are suggested to the Port Arthur Curling Centre for their roof top units.

Terry was a classmate at Confederation College in the Survey Tech program. Those were a couple of good years, and always had some good laughs. His passion for curling and helping the youth learn the game will be missed. RIP my friend.

Terry lived just up the street from us on Balsam as kids . Got to know him in Highschool . We had a lot of fun back then . I fondly remember weekend poker nights with Terry and others in Bruce Whatley's basement . He also spent a lot of time in Edmonton with my brothers Brent and Kevin Kirby . I last saw Terry a few years back at the Curling Club . Condolences to all his friends and family .

Our families were next door neighbours a few years until their house burnt down. Terry was funny, athletic, always ready for a ball game, tag, hide n seek and generally running the backlanes with kids in the "hood". Weiner roasts, running through the sprinkler or hiding way up high in the leafy branches of the trees throwing tiny crab apples at kids below, we laughed n snuck up there to eat candy...He was mischieveous, adventurous and kind. His laughter and huge smile are easy to remember. He will be missed by loved ones and friends. Our deepest condolences....RIP Terry. The ROBITAILLE family

Very sad to learn about Terry's passing. First met him when he volunteered to work at the "Presidents Party" at the PACC and later coached him on a winning Ontario college curling team in North Bay. Always enjoyed sharing a beer while laughing and listening to his "opinions" on many different topics (you pick it he had a take on it). Unfortunately his quiet contribution to the PACC was often overlooked and I see his dedication continues even though he has gone. Wherever he ends up they had better be prepared for his critical assessments of the operation! RIP old friend I'll miss you
