KIVI
With sadness and heavy hearts, the family of Terry Ernest Kivi announce his passing at the age of 67 on February 6, 2025 at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre after a series of medical complications and a brief battle with cancer. Terry, the oldest of 3 children, was born on October 25, 1957 in Port Arthur, Ontario. At the young age of 16, his love of driving led him into what would end up his fulfilling lifelong career in the trucking industry. He worked for several local companies over the years, and eventually became an owner-operator of his own tractor-trailer. Terry shared his passion for trucking and the open highway with his children Brandon, Terrilynn, and grandson Grayson, taking them on several trips across the region and bob-tailing around the city. Terry decided to take a well-deserved early retirement in the fall of 2023. This allowed him to spend more time with his family and friends, all of whom he cared for deeply. He particularly enjoyed taking his grandson Grayson on Jeep rides to get Merla Mae ice cream and out to the local parks. Sadly, not long into is retirement, Terry suffered a stroke that limited his quality of life. Terry will be deeply missed & lovingly remembered by his children Brandon (Jenn) & Terrilynn (Patrick), grandchildren Grayson, Charles, and one soon to be born; his parents Eva Macsemchuk & Ernie (Nancy) Kivi, sister Debbie (Jaime) Costa, brother Brent (Lorraine Beaudry); nieces & nephews Kristin, Kyle, and Conner; and a very large and wide-spread extended family and wife Laurie. There will be no funeral service, as per Terry's wishes. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in tribute to the Heart & Stroke foundation or the
Canadian Cancer Society. A commemorative tree and plaque will be planted at Boulevard Lake by the immediate Kivi family to honour Terry and keep his memory alive.
Rest in peace Terry, love you, miss you.
