Thomas Ahola

Mr. Thomas Charles Ahola, age 68 years, resident of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 22, 2006 from Mesothelioma Cancer. Thomas was born on September 11, 1938 and grew up in Nolalu. He was employed as an electrician with the IBEW Local 402 for 50 years. He was a 30 year member of the Masonic Lodge and a Shriner for 20 years. He married Evelyn Sim in 1958 and resided with his family in Murillo until 2006. He then moved with Evelyn into Thunder Bay. His home and family were his greatest joy. He enjoyed travelling and his occasional visits to the casino. He had drive, strength and determination which helped him to fulfill his life's wishes. He will be sadly missed by all that loved and knew him. Survived by his loving wife Evelyn of 48 years, sons Wayne (Edith) and Bruce (Aili); daughters Kelly Lawson (Stephen) and Kristie Kuizenga (Kor); sisters Elsie Ehn (Dennis) and Bertha Collett; grandchildren Allison, Cheryl, Daryl, Jody, Brett, Jeremy, Nolan, and Kayley; brothers and sisters-in-law Svea Ahola, Jane Somerton, May Hunnakko, Edna Wilson (Jim), Ross Sim (Helen) Barbara Chornoboy (Ron), Brian Sim (Evelyn), Sandy Sim and Rosemary Sim (Guy). Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Predeceased by his Parents Eino and Naimi Ahola and brothers Tauno, Toivo, Vilho, Reino, and Leo. Brother in law John Collett. A Private Service for the family will be held at Trinity United Church at a later date. Interment in Riverside Cemetery.
