Thomas (Tom) Craig, aged 97 years, of Dawson Court and formerly of Morse Street, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, November 22, 2011. Tom was born on February 2, 1914 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Stuart and Janet Craig. In 1931 Tom moved to Thunder Bay and in 1940 he married Evelyn Poulin. Tom worked in bush camps when he first moved to Thunder Bay and later at the Port Arthur Shipyard for 35 years, retiring at age 65. Tom was one of the founding members of the Current River Credit Union which he ran out of his basement for several years. He was heavily involved with charity work for the Loyal Order of Moose and he held many offices with the Lodge over the years including Governor. Tom was an avid bowler, curler and golfer and he continued to participate well into his 90's, getting a hole in one at age 91. Tom enjoyed spending time with his many friends and family and was always quick with a joke or humorous story. Tom and Evelyn recently celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary. Survived by his wife Evelyn (nee Poulin); sons Tom Jr. (Susan), Hugh (Heather) and Alan (Sue); brother Jim Craig; sister Jean Oatway; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life and reception will be held on Friday, December 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Moose Hall, Fort William Road, with Rev.
