STADEY July 4, 1959 ~ August 22, 2025
On Friday, August 22, 2025, Victor Gordon Stadey, age 66 years, passed away peacefully at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre surrounded by his family.
Victor was born in Fort William, Ontario on July 4, 1959, son of Marlene Gail (nee Young) and Gordon Alexander Stadey. Growing up as a child, he spent his summers camping in Graham where he met his future wife Donna Martyn, at the age of just 14. At an early age, Victor already showed an interest in mechanics. He started working on his father's cars and then followed his interest to Trade School. After earning his Red Seal, he continued to work with his Dad at Powell Equipment as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
After an early retirement, Victor spent his time at many race tracks, camping and fishing, and serving as a long time member of the Westfort Prosvita, where he also volunteered his time as President and other positions on the Board. Some of his favourite moments were his trips to Alberta to see his grandson, who was so special to him.
Victor will be deeply missed by his wife of 44 years, Donna; children Kimberly (Kyle) Dawson and Ryan (Crystle) Stadey, and his beloved grandson Hudson Stadey. He is also survived by his father, Gordon Stadey and brother Douglas (Marlene) Stadey; his two best friends and "Bros", Mitch Hansen and Roddy Vass, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and extended family.
He was predeceased by his mother Gail Stadey and his grandson Liam Wesley Stadey who welcomed him into Heaven.
Funeral Services in Honour of Victor will be on Friday, August 29, 2025 at 11:00am in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James. Please wear your favourite racing T-Shirt as a tribute to Victor. A reception will follow at the Westfort Prosvita Hall. Interment will take place at a later date in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Should friends so desire, donations made in memory of Victor to Paws for Love would be greatly appreciated.
